Writing at home is boring. I think we can agree on that. That means it’s time to spice it up – with magic!

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of magic? Most probably it’s Harry Potter. The first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, was published in 1997 in the UK. For twenty years, the young wizard, his friends, and his truly wondrous world have taken many readers’ hearts by storm.

With different ambient sounds and background noise mixes, you can bring the wondrous world of Harry Potter into your study!

Writing With Harry Potter Atmospheres

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is, like all places in the world of our favorite wizard, a magical place. And yet, it is also supposed to be a place of learning and studying. The teachers and staff do their best to keep it that way. Unfortunately, the couldn’t prevent all the adventures and battles, but hey, they tried!

Nonetheless, this magical school provides many places where students can go to focus and study. With the many diverse ambient noise mixes that the Ambient-Mixer.com users created, you can bring thus studious and magical atmosphere right to your bedroom. Why write in your own four walls when you can go to the Great Hall, a dorm room or the Hogwarts library to bring pen to paper!

Following is a list of some of the most atmospheric ambient mixes from and around Hogwarts.

The Hogwarts Library

Libraries are specially designed to improve focus. They provide a calm and quiet atmosphere for studying, research and, of course, for writing. Let’s add a sprinkle of magic though.

The Hogwarts library is a place where students of the school come to to do their homework, research for papers or study for their exams, O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s . And, in the case of Harry and company, to get information about their adventures and the fight against He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.

Here is a small list of the various Hogwarts library mixes:

The Common Rooms

As you surely know already, students attending Hogwarts are sorted into one of four houses; Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin. Each house has their own designated area in the huge castle that hosts the school. Depending on which house you are sorted into, you will find your dorm and common room in the Gryffindor Tower, Slytherin Dungeon, Ravenclaw Tower or the Hufflepuff Basement.

Ravenclaw

The house of founder Rowena Ravenclaw seems to be the most popular among Ambient-Mixr users. By the time of this article, 650 atmospheres have been created for this Hogwarts house.

Slytherin

Slytherin is the house that landed in second place when it comes to popularity among the Ambient-Mixer audience. A total of 508 atmospheres for the house of the serpent could be found by the creation of this list.

Gryffindor

The house made famous by Harry, Hermione, Ron and the whole Weasley clan comes in third place. Ambient-Mixer users have created 405 atmospheres for Gryffindor.

Hufflepuff

Last but certainly not least, 371 ambient mixes were created for Hufflepuff. While it seems like the house of the badger gets the least love from our Ambient-Mixer users, this is still an impressive number!

Hogwarts And The Grounds

Of course, Hogwarts has much more, more or less hidden spots where you can sit down and get work done. And when the weather is nice, certain spots on the Hogwarts grounds or the areas nearby are inviting as well. And even when it’s snoy outside, there is still Hogsmeade!

Other Locations

Basically, however, there are no restrictions. It is your choice where in Harry Potter’s world you pull out your pen to get some writing done. On the Hogwarts Express or rather in a café at Diagon Alley.
